A Dotty Start For The Middle Room

We have had a wonderful start to the year in the Middle Room! We have been busy getting to know one another, thinking about our hopes for the year ahead, and celebrating what makes each of us unique. We took inspiration from the incredible artist Yayoi Kusama, exploring her colourful exhibitions and her distinctive use of dots and patterns. We then created our very own dotty name tags, inspired by her artwork.
As we begin our learning journey together, each child thought about their ambitions and hopes for the year and recorded them on special learning leaves. These are now part of our classroom Learning Tree, which will continue to grow throughout the year alongside us and our learning.
We also enjoyed reading Our Class Is a Family, which helped us think about what it means to be part of a classroom community. We talked about kindness, friendship, belonging and how we can support one another. To celebrate our class family, we created a special door display using our handprints and our favourite colours. Each handprint is different, just like each member of our class, but together they create something wonderful.
