The Senior Room have greatly enjoyed lots of exciting activities this term. We took part in an engineering workshop and made bridges out of spaghetti. In art we have studied our trainers very closely and painted beautiful butterflies. We also did some weaving with wool!

March/April 2022 News
This term the Senior Room submitted amazing projects on their chosen animals, doing their own research and format of presentation. We designed our own book covers for the novel 'Holes' by Louis Sachar which was a very enjoyable read.
In Art we tried wax resist and focused on Irish Dancers for Seachtain na Gaeilge. We also looked at Optical Illusions wth our student teacher and had a go at designing our own, they turned out very good!

January 2022 News
The Senior Room have been discovering the many interesting ways in which Chinese Tangrams work. We also created stunning colour waves in Art which all turned out very differently. We have written Book Reports about a book we have enjoyed reading so that other children in the Senior Room might read it too!

October/ November 2021 News
The Senior Room have been doing lots of work with fractions and decimals this month. We investigated a Decimal Jigsaw and did a lot of finding the totals and differences between the pieces.
We also attended a Climate Summit for primary school children during Cop 26. After that we designed and created our own Sustainability Islands.
Art is always creative and fun in the Senior Room, especially when painting our Funny Faces!
Now we are waiting for Christmas so what better way then to make an Advent Calendar to help us count the days...

September 2021 News
The Senior Room has been concentrating each week on a new skill for Art. We have created super 'Line Drawings' which took a lot of work to complete and then we had some fun with paper and string, making 'Things on a String' which was fiddly but they turned out really well.
We are reading a novel called 'Holes' by Louis Sachar and it is a story about a boy called Stanley who is sent to a detention camp in Texas and has to dig holes every day.
