May/June 2022 News
We have been so busy this month in the Middle Room! Completing lots of taster courses for our 'Creative Schools' programme was definitely a huge success and enjoyed by all! We have completed a drama workshop; a dance workshop and a photography workshop. On top of that we had an incredible Sports Day down in Rockfield Park with lots of different races and even some events for our teachers! There was some crazy hair styles in our room on Mad Hair Day! However, our overall highlight has definitely been our school trip to the 'Forest Club'. We had so much fun, laughter and created so many amazing memories building dens and fires and roasting marshmallows with our class.

All in we have had an incredible year in the Middle Room this year!

February/ March 2022 News
The last two months in the Middle Room have been full on and we have learned about some super exciting things!
In February:
We have spent loads of time looking at symmetry and fractions in maths! It has been great fun playing with characters and pictures of cookies to help us learn more about fractions. We also looked at symmetry (Miss Nolan is very particular on drawing shapes symmetrically!)
We have had a wild time learning about static electricity! Including rubbing a balloon of our classmate’s jumpers and hair! We even managed to get a balloon to stick the wall and it had no helium in it!
In art we have been doing lots of painting and recently painted pictures from our own imagination! There were lots of different pictures of landscapes; football; people; flowers and even dinosaurs!
Our drama lessons have been focused on lots of silly and funny plays by Roald Dahl. We have been working really hard on using our voices to show different expressions in both our reading and our drama plays!
We have also focused on healthy eating, the food pyramid and why a healthy diet is so important. Many of us made our own lunches one day, making sure to include food that will ensure we have a healthy balanced diet. As well as this we looked at how to wash our hands properly and our teeth!

In March:
We celebrated World Book Day! It was awesome fun getting to dress up as some of our favourite book characters!
We have never worked so hard on our Irish verbs before! There has been so much practice going on in the Middle Room ensuring we add in our ‘h’ or our D’ to put the verbs in the past tense. We are also professionals now at the irregular past tense verbs and conjugating them all! We have worked so hard and had a great time using the ipads to learn!
In maths we have been learning all about money! You will often find money on the floor at the end of the day because we have been using it in our lessons so much!
We also received some lovely new Good News Bibles!

To celebrate St Patrick’s Day we have learned all about St Patrick, did some Céilí dances and dressed up in green.
February and March have been two very busy months but it’s been a blast! -Miss Nolan

December 2021/ January 2022 News
The Middle Room has been up to a lot in December.
In art we have been doing cross stitches and in maths we have been doing time and subtraction and adding. We also learned all about the weather in geography and in religion we learned the nativity story and did a nativity play. We had a great time for Christmas by doing a Kris Kringle.

In January, the Middle Room made some 'zentangles' in art.
We have been learning all the irregular verbs in Irish and rhythm and pulse in music.
In English we are writing letters to the Government and in history the middle room had so much fun learning about the 18th century.

October/ November 2021 News
In October, we've been looking at Halloween in every spooky subject! From English to History, it has been so much fun! We did another cool thing in Drama! Mr Myaggy is a great Drama game, and so simple too! Grab a leader, a couple cool moves, and you’ll be set to play! If you do the same move as your leader(Mr Myaggy), you are out, but if not, you’re in! It’s sure to be fun, and cool too!
Meanwhile, Music during November has been all about sounds we can make. Pencil case shaking and real bells and tambourines,it was definitely a good day in music!
However, in Irish, we were looking at sitting room items, definitely a thing to learn!
Moving on to December we’ve been looking at the weather! So awesome! Also, in English, conjunctions are in the house! They are brilliant, and helpful too! It’s been a fun few months, for sure! Bye for now! -Temperance and Eric

September 2021 News
It's been a great start to the school year this September in the room! As you can see below we have done some incredible learning! We had lots of fun in our music class, we made cool noises and conducted. It was very fun.
We did a science experiment. Our teacher, Miss Nolan swung a bucket of water really fast over her head. She didn't get wet at all! We also did another science experiment. We got two big books and two little books. Then we put them together page by page. Then we got two people to pull the big ones apart. They couldn't pull them apart! They could pull apart the smaller ones either!
We did a history project on our families. Everybody did a presentation. It was very fun learning about everyone's families!

-Senan and Naoise
We have also been looking at 'The Fruit's of the Spirit' for our religion lessons. Through these lessons we have found out how we can show: love; joy; peace; patience; kindness; goodness; faithfulness; gentleness and self-control within our school. We made this beautiful tree to represent the fruits of the Spirit and the ways we can use them in school.
Next month we will be focusing on 'Ireland' in our lessons as well as Halloween!
